A newspaper, old magazines, vinyl records, worn leather jackets and even tyre, old cement-sacks to throw away or disuse bags of the Italian Post, old wallpaper, geographic maps of the sixties but also old army-fabrics. Everything is useful to realize bags, wallets, document wallets, trolley, but also jewels such has bracelets and necklaces, with an exclusive handcraft manufacture under banner of recycling.

It is called Momaboma, trade mark of Bologna, owned by 45 years old Maurizio Longati, that from 2003, thanks to a genial idea realizes these new products, that day by dayearn more and more customers in the fashion system world: after a travel in India, where he noted an old cement sack, he thought to realize a souvenir bag for his wife, covering it with a fertilizer net.

The company is familyhold and the name is the illustrativeexample: MOMABOMA in fact is the acronym of the names Moreno, dog of the family, Marta, family cat, Bombo, nickname of the wife Claudia and Maurizio, the owner and director. How can be realized these objects? Once that the products we want to realize are individuated, we need one newspaper, a magazine or old sacks that will be cut and then with a specific manufacture (patented by Longati) must be "customizzati", term that means pass them in resins and particular substances in order to make the paper indestructible, but at the same time flexible. Then a leather craftsman occupies himself with the sewing and the realization of the bag, maybe with leather handles taken from an old jacket to throw away or from rubber tyres.
This kind of manufacture produce every object unique and unrepeatable.
From the initial idea to the final product everything should been realized in an area of 30 kilometers in the district of Bologna. In year 2004 Momaboma has won the award for young companies of CNA of Bologna.

The distribution of the products take place through 15 show room, 350 shops in Italy and 35 abroad, for example in Russia, Spain and Japan. The turnover is around 2 millions Euro. But this product is growing up, from 3 thousand pieces of the beginning to 25 thousand of today, it acquires praises day by day, as it has shown the big number of visitors at the stand of the firm at the last expo Pitti Image Man in Florence. And right in the Tuscany town the company has shown its last idea: the bag with stickers of the football players in collaboration with Panini and the project called MyMomaboma, that means the accessory personalised with one's pictures and even schoolwork of the children.
